East Coast Trip

We had a full week visiting family and friends, we were so glad that our family could spend time with Avery. We spent the first night with Carolyn (Jason's mom), Katie and Luke. Then we spent the next day at Bill and Vicky Hogan's house laying around the pool and grilling with my family. On Sunday, Avery was baptized and we had a party afterwards, thanks to Aunt Katie and Uncle Luke for hosting the party at their complex clubhouse. My parents live in North Carolina now, the Gruias were kind enough to host us all at their house for a couple nights, we had such a great time. Above is a picture of my parents with Avery sleeping at their 40th wedding anniversary dinner. Then Jason, Avery and I stayed with Carolyn the next couple nights enjoying Reston, shopping around and eating good meals. We loved being with family and friends--more hands to hold and entertain Avery:) Here are some pictures from our days in VA, including a picture with Moira and Greg and Hadley (Price and Abby's baby).

The week did not end there, we drove up to New Jersey for Rob Cifelli and Journie's wedding. We got to stop in Hoboken, but unfortunately we had to make a surprise visit to a pediatrician there because Avery had a rash of some kind on her leg, thank god it was not serious and she was ok. Jason saw our condo and met our tenants, then we headed to Caldwell, NJ so Jason could get to the rehearsal dinner. The next day, we enjoyed the wedding! Avery came to the ceremony and was a good girl, she slept through the entire mass. Then Jordan watched Avery while we went to the reception, our first night away from her and she did great, she had fun with Jordan and her sister.

Avery's Baptism

Avery took her first plane trip and she did great! No crying at all--just sleeping, nursing and looking around. She liked Virgin America's media center:) We arrived in VA on Friday and Avery was baptized on Sunday at the church I went to growing up, Our Lady of Good Council. Jeff (my brother) and Katie (Jason's sister) are the godparents. The baptism was really special because many of our family and friends were there to celebrate. She cried when the priest poured the holy water on her head and wiped off the oil from her forehead, but other than that I think she enjoyed the ceremony and being in her pretty white dress. Afterwards, we had a party at Aunt Katie and Uncle Luke's condo complex clubhouse, it was so much fun! Avery changed into her party dress, but kept socks on because her feet were cold:)
